The original company F.M.S was founded in the USA by Tony McCarthy in 2002 from his humble beginnings as a plastic and steel drum dealer. The company expanded into recycling during the following years. With major clients such as Pepsi, Cott and Tropicana demanding very specialised recycling techniques and equipment.

Pioneer Recycling USA Inc. was born out of the need for a name encompassing the company’s new direction. At the same time Pioneer Recycling UK Ltd was set up to share the aquired knowledge of Tony McCarthy, and Peter England whose experience within the rubber and papermaking industries spans many years.

Pioneer Recycling UK Ltd has set up in Salisbury, Wiltshire to provide processing facilities for several types of recyclables. The company objective is to continue its quest for new materials and techniques to recycle them.

The company is aiming to minimise the amount of materials sent to landfill by providing a total waste management system, whereby all recyclable and waste streams are removed from site by Pioneer Recycling, sorted, processed and sent to companies who use recycled materials.
